How I got started playing netball:
My mum played in the netball local league and used to go and watch. She then set up a small club in Wigan with one of her friends.
Ambition as Netball player:
To achieve my potential and always strive for new challenges.
First represented England: Harlow, Essex v Republic of Ireland, 1997
No. Of caps: 91
Major national achievements:
- Winning many tournament and league titles with Greater Manchester County when I was a teenager.
- Intercounties win with Derbyshire County.
- Reaching the final of Super League 2007 with Mavericks.
Major international achievements:
- Commonwealth Games Bronze Medallist 1998 in Kuala Lumpar & 2006 Melbourne
- World Championship bronze medallist 1999, New Zealand.
Biggest disappointment:
Losing bronze medal play offs in 2002, 2003 & 2007.
Favourite tournament: CWG Melbourne 2006.
Most admired player: Fiona Murtagh.
The one change I would make to improve my sport:
More media attention and make it professional – it would be great to train for
netball for a living!

Favourite way to spend a day off:
A lie in, going for coffee and cake with my husband, probably followed by a nice
meal out and a few drinks with friends!
My hobbies/Pets:
Socialising with friends and family, Eating out (I love food!), Any fun outdoor
activity i.e. cycling, wakeboarding, playing in the sea!!
Most embarrassing moment:
There are too many – I am renowned for being a bit clumsy!
Favourite food: Seafood.
Favourite city or country: Italy – where I got married!
Favourite holiday destination: Amalfi Coast, Italy!

What will I be doing in 10 years time:
Hopefully spending time with my family but still finding time to see more interesting parts of the world!
